There are PSA-member clubs in remote areas where it is difficult to find qualified judges for a monthly club critique-type judging. There are also member clubs that need judges from outside their area for an End of Year scoring by three judges and the selection of award recipients.  PSA has qualified judges who volunteer their judging services with proper lead time and scheduling.  This service is only for digital images sent on a CD or DVD and the judging report will only be sent back to the contact person via email.  Provide the information below in an email and send it to the Consultant to have a club judging arranged.

Print Judging:
The PSA Club Print Judging Service is a program to help a PSA-member club request a judge for a club print competition.  The club contacts the Consultant, requests a judge, and provides information about the particular competition and the time frame for judging.  The Consultant then contacts several people from a list of potential judges until one is found who is willing to serve.  The Consultant sends the name, address, and email address of the judge to the club, and the club then contacts the judge and arranges for sending the prints and the return postage. When the prints are received, the judge reviews the prints and awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mentions.   The judge comments on the award winning prints and sends these comments via email.  Some judges will record these comments on a digital recorder provided by the club, and send the recorder back to the club along with the prints.

PSA Image Analysis Course Many times camera club members are called upon to discuss the work of others. This online course is designed so the student may learn to formulate thought patterns regarding a pictorial photograph toward more intelligent discourse.

This course is also designed to improve the student’s personal work through comprehensive analysis of the work of others.  The lessons contain the work of master photographers as well as the work of the amateur and beginner, for a broad range of visual stimulation.

Since the course is designed for members of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), it is designed to help the student evaluate work within the framework of PSA-recognized International Exhibitions and the camera club environment.  Evaluation of student’s analyses by the instructor will be for the purpose of helping the student have a positive and productive PSA experience and contribute to the positive experience of others.

To take this course, the student must be a member of a PSA-member club who is, or becomes, an individual member of PSA.  Please provide your club name and your PSA membership number when contacting the instructor.

Image Competition Manager Discount The Image Competition Manager (ICM) is a program designed to assist in preparing and managing images shared in a club competition or exhibition. Management of the competition includes displaying competition entries, judging, displaying winners, and record keeping. ICM runs only under Windows 2000 or later versions. It uses the latest technology from Microsoft to provide an easy to use interface. The program is simple to install and will notify the Club Competition Manager when there are updates.

Competitions may be created with the ICM program, but a club will usually want to create them on their website in advance of a competition. Once created, members may submit entries to a competition using their website. Rules the club has established for the competition will be enforced, such as pixel dimensions and number of entries. Images may also be entered at the time of the competition. In this case, the image files are imported into the Image Competition Manager program.

Following a competition, the Club Competition Manager should again connect to the Internet and use the ICM program to send all of the club's updated competition data and images to the website. The results of the competition are displayed automatically, including the winning images. This program can also be used to feed winning entries to a Council or PSA Interclub Competition.
